Canada FBM2020 and its partners are closely monitoring the developments of the coronavirus and are following precautions and recommendations issued by the Government of Canada.

As of right now, we are proceeding with our plans for Canada’s presence as the Guest of Honour at the 2020 Frankfurt Book Fair.  We will keep you informed of any developments that may impact or change these plans.

Unveiling of the preliminary list for the Frankfurt Book Fair, October 14 to 18, 2020

Last fall, Canada FBM2020 invited Canadian publishers and literary agents to submit applications on behalf of their Canadian authors and illustrators to participate in the official literary delegation as part of Canada’s presence as Guest of Honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair (October 14-18, 2020).

After an enthusiastic response from the publishing industry (close to 400 applications were received), and a rigorous assessment process in accordance with the project’s guiding principles and selection criteria, Canada FBM2020’s Literary Programming Committee established a list of authors and illustrators to be invited to participate in the official literary delegation at the Frankfurt Book Fair. Letters of non-selection are still being sent out and we thank you for your patience.

The initial list of authors and illustrators who have confirmed their presence in Frankfurt this fall is available through this link: https://canadafbm2021.com/authors/

Later this spring, the Department of Canadian Heritage and Canada FBM2020 plan to promote the official literary delegation via traditional and social media platforms in Canada and in Germany.  Details to follow.
