Summary
Chimera’s Still Warm Body is a 4-act operatic performance by Canadian artist Bitsy Knox (libretto) in collaboration with the Belgian composer and musician Els Vandeweyer, performed in the apse of the 13th century monastery ruins. The work retells the life and death of the Ancient Greek monster, Chimera. Drawing from original source material, chaos theory, free jazz musicology, and queer theory, it traces notions of hybridity, asynchrony, and the manipulative power of fear.
