Summary

In this tender and courageous short doc, Elder Julia Cockney shares the impact of, at 7 years old, being denied the presence of her mom and dad, and growing up in a Residential School. Now as an adult, her heart is finding its way home. A film by the youth of Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories, Canada.

In 2017, Reel Youth visited ‘Tuk’ as it is locally called, for two weeks. We facilitated youth and elders documentaries and a series of issue-based claymations. See more of these films at http://reelyouth.ca/tuktoyaktuk2017.html.
