Summary
Inspired by more than 25-years of working in the striptease industry, Margaret Dragu’s choreography of Try Leather references her dance solo of the same name, first performed in Toronto in 1975 – a mix of striptease, aerobics, modern dance, and feminist performance.
Performers Justine A. Chambers, Margaret Dragu, William Locke Wheeler, and Britta Wirthmüller examine the original solo in relation to their own biographies for contemporary relevance and explore the desire to see and be seen.
