Details

Set against the background of the 1970 October crisis in Quebec, Les rois mongols portrays the inspiring and touching revolutionary struggle of young Manon, who is determined to save herself and her younger brother from being sent to an orphanage. While the grown-ups argue over the national state of emergency, Manon drafts her personal manifesto of children’s rights and does not shy away even from radical measures like kidnapping to achieve her goals.

Awarded the Crystal Bear for best film in the youth category at the Berlinale 2018 (102 minutes)
