Details

At the end of the 1990s, the small Arctic Inuit community of Kugluktuk has one of the highest youth suicide rates in North America. When rookie teacher Russ Sheppard arrives at the local school, he finds himself confronted with psychological and social problems as well as the fateful consequences of colonization on the Indigenous world. Sheppard starts a lacrosse team at the school. And this seemingly ridiculous idea ends up having far-reaching consequences. Based on a true story. (104 minutes)
