David A. Robertson is a successful Canadian bestselling author of children’s books, graphic novels and novels in Canada. His books have won numerous awards, including the Governor General’s Literary Award for his picture book “When We Were Alone”, which deals with the topic of residential schools. The Canadian author manages to educate and entertain indigenous peoples in his writings. He reflects on indigenous culture and history, and in doing so illuminates many contemporary issues. He lives in Winnipeg with his wife and five children and is a member of the Norway House Cree Nation.

Little Tiger Verlag has published the children’s book “When we were alone” (with illustrations by Julie Flett) in German. The youth book series “Strangers” has been published in German by Merlin Verlag.
